OUR CHURCH

The Lord charged Elder Tyrone and Apostle Michelle Bays in November of 2001 with starting a church. During quiet time with God Apostle heard the Lord whisper instructions to take the word “CRISIS” say it using the word and to separate it. Apostle sounded aloud Christ and Us and the name and shortly thereafter the words of the vision flowed onto paper and Gods Word began to take form. They struggled with the charge for months before leaving Times of Refreshing Ministries and opening Christ N Us Ministries Outreach and Crisis Centers. Seeking the guidance and direction from their friend and spiritual father, Apostle Michael Parnell, they joined his ministry. Not knowing that he had already received and order from the Lord concerning them several years prior, without hesitation and the direction of the Holy Spirit, he anointed, ordained and blessed them, ultimately sending them out to do the work that God had commissioned them to do.

Their first service was held on April 7th, 2002. At this time they were having service in the lower half of the Bays 5 bedroom split level home located at 1808 East Maynard Ave. on the Northside of Columbus Ohio. The attendance on this day was two families, sister Victoria Bryant and her children and Evangelist Sylvia Ford and her children, who joined Elder and Apostle Bays and their children. The following Sunday two more families joined, Sister Lora Turner and Children and Sister Terry (Sunshine) Farris and her family. Within weeks they had to move the church to the upper level of the house, for they had out grown the downstairs, but not before the Apostle’s natural sister, Adrah Curtis, joined the church with her children and quickly allowed God to put their lives to His work. By this time God had done some awesome things in Christ N Us and had started building other ministries within the church. The Homeless Shelter Feed Service, Inspired By God Dance Ministry, Men with Honor Ministry, Virtuous Women Ministry and the Y.E.S Team (Youth Erasing Sins).

Then in August of 2002 Christ N Us had their first Tent Ministry Service and God moved. They had no ideal it would grow as large as it did. So many people were blessed and were a blessing to the ministry. Souls were saved, even in the rain. Six months into the ministry there was no more standing room on the stairs leading to the front door. Only Elder and Apostle Bays knew the Lord would have to do something for they were out of room.

In December of 2002, God blessed Christ N Us Ministries again and they moved to 617 3rd Avenue on the Northside of Columbus Ohio. On the first night in their new building space, Christ N Us suffered a break in and they took a major loss. But that did not stop Christ N Us. Without microphones, amps or musical instruments, service went on as usual and the Holy Ghost had His way. The saints came together helping wherever help was needed and soon they were back on their feet. Before 2002 would end, through a friend and member of the church, Christ N Us Ministries adopted the “Confession of Favor” and was charged by God to read it before each tithe and offering. Because of their faithfulness to what God had instructed; in the years to follow, the church and its members would see the favor of God move in miraculous ways.

Early in 2003, while feeding at the homeless shelter, the Bays was approached by a man who had been living in the shelter. There was something so familiar about this man and instead of standing in the line to get food, he stood along side the Bays and Christ N Us Ministries and began to serve. The conversation and the anointing on his life could not be denied. After leaving the shelter, Apostle wrestled inside herself with leaving the man behind. She spoke with her husband and found that Elder Bays was feeling the same way. They immediately turned around and went back to get the man and ask him into their how under the unction of the Holy Spirit. That man was Elder Maurice Brent, who not only would prove to be one of Elder Bays’ and CNUM’s greatest supporting soldiers, he was very instrumental in speaking Outreach and Crisis Centers Inc. into existence, becoming one of its founding members, Chief Governor, and pastor branching O.C.C into Cleveland Ohio and opening Full Gospel Deliverance Ministries Outreach and Crisis Center in February of 2010 where he pastored and was instrumental in outreach and addiction ministry until his death late 2011. What a loss.

By mid 2003 the Lord began to show Christ N Us their mission to let the world know that time is running out and during a Holy Ghost infused service, the theme song to that mission was written by music ministers Curtis Stevens III, Clifton Curtis II, and the Apostle “Time is Running Out” which is still blessing every soul it touches until this day. Many more songs were to follow. The baton of Pastor and Sheppard was passed from Apostle Michelle Bays to her husband Pastor Tyrone L Bays, Sr. who would guide the church, through his vision, to become a outreach and crisis ministry much like Jesus Christs’ himself. CNUM was blessed that year with the addition of the Apostles brother Dekare W Jones, who joined in and allowed the Apostle to sharpen his teaching gift and becoming known for taking even the simplest of cartoons and ministering even to a child God’s intent to deliever man from the “Human Condition”.

In 2004,  after the development and anointing of the first “Lost Soul Patrol” the leaders of Christ N Us stepped out on faith and purchased their first church building at 377 Mix Avenue on the westside of Columbus Ohio with the miraculous help of Gods Favor. Along with gifts from several doctors and lawyer friends of the Bays, church members joined the faith step and begun to sow hundreds of dollars and before they knew it CNUM raised $10,000 for the downpayment that was accepted for the purchase of the church. This would prove to be the beginning of the birthing and implementation stage of Outreach and Crisis Centers Inc.

In the summer of 2005, the Apostle was led to go to college to begin her journey in counseling. Apostle Michelle had no idea what God really had in store. During her first semester, she would meet Toika Cunningham, and through Toikas friendship, sisterhood, love and faith in Gods ability to use Apostle Michelle to lead Toika to her ultimate intended place in God; Apostle shook of many unspoken fears and the one who would be known as the Chief Apostle of O.C.C and Apostle to many in and out of the country would emerge. By the fall of 2005 Christ N Us would meet up with the ministry that would bring meaning to Outreach and Crisis Centers Inc. During a leadership conference hosted by CNUM on behalf of another minister, Pastor and Apostle were introduced to Pastor Johnny Shaw of Tupelo Mississippi. While Pastor Shaw was preaching at the conference, Apostle and Pastor Bays could not deny how familiar the spirit of this man of God felt and Apostle heard the Lord say “this is your brother”. Pastor Shaw would bring his wife, children, and a few of his members from Temple of Praise back to Columbus in November of 2005 for an explosive weekend of love and fellowship wherewhich at the end not seeing each other again could not be fathomed and an everlasting family bond was formed and in 2007 the Chief Officers of O.C.C were appointed. Chief Apostle Michelle Bays, Chief Pastor Tyrone Bays Sr., Chief Prophet Adrah Forrest, Chief Teacher Johnny Shaw, Chief Governor Maurice Brent, Chief Evangelist Sylvia Horton, and Chief Administrator Toika Cunningham. In the years to follow no one could have imagined the souls that would be saved and the families added to the church as they traveled up and down the highway in the name of “Love”!

During the year of 2007, encouraged by the Chief Teacher to seek out a church midway between Mississippi and Ohio, Chief Apostle contacted 5 churches between Kentucky and Tennessee, following the instructions from God to leave a message sharing who she was and assured that “the” church that returned her call would be the one. Only one church contacted the Apostle, Praise Temple of Knoxville TN under the leadership of Bishop William Pankey. Invited to come and visit by his wife, Apostle Michelle Bays, Prophet Adrah Forrest, and Evangelist Toika Cunningham did just that; traveling to TN where Apostle Bays was offered an opportunity to preach the gospel and through the direction of the Holy Spirit an everlasting bond was formed. Shortly following, members of CNUM and Temple of Praise of Mississippi visited Knoxville and O.C.C continued to spread.

In 2008, Fred and Sylvia Horton branched off and took the Lost Soul Patrol from the streets to a church house and opened Lost Souls Ministries O.C.C. Where they continued the Tent and Feeding Ministries designed to bring hope of recovery and healing through Gods anointing to those individuals broken from addiction and/or homelessness. Also in July of 2008, Apostle Michelle Bays, Prophet Adrah Forrest, and then Evangelist Toika Cunningham, traveled on a mission trip to Catadupa Jamaica to assist a native church build the foundation that would house their first elemetary school with running water, plumbing, and electric; stayng at the church and building many relationships with the natives of Catadupa Mountain. O.C.C was bridging over.

In  2009 God spoke to both Prophet Adrah Forrest and Pastor Tyrone Bays that her time at CNUM had come to a close and she was given the charge to form Persuaded Through Seasons Ministries O.C.C. She had her first service on April 19, 2009. Her ministry grew quickly and allowed God to sharpen her gifts as both a pastor and a prophet like no other. PTSM continues to be instrumental in touching lives in many innovative ways. Now stationed in Indiana, continues to cross barriers of demonimantion and culture bringing new meaning to Outreach.

In 2010, Pastor and Apostle Bays and the O.C.C Family was blessed once more. While fellowshipping with Apostle’s cousin Apryl Ashburn and her Husband Mark Dewberry, God spoke through tears and the couple revealed that God had charged them with pastoring and they openly shared their fears along with their strong desire to do what God has instructed. With the love and support of O.C.C they were annointed, ordained, and formed Chosen Watchmen O.C.C and had their first service the 4th of July weekend of 2010. Through Chosen Watchmen, many testimonies of healing and deliverance from addicitons emerged adding onto the O.C.C Family those who had been blessed through their embracement of those in crisis aiding them in finding jobs, housing and even soleminzing marriages who still remain a vibrant part of their ministry. Shortly after Pastor Maurice Brents death, they both accepted appointments to Chief Officers where they remain Chief Evangelist and Chief Governor til this day.

In 2013, After graduating with her Bachelors in Substance Abuse Counseling, Masters in Human Services with a Focus of Marriage and Family Counseling, and obtaining her Independent Licensure in Chemical Dependency Counseling through the State of Ohio, Apostle Michelle Bays pushed the vision forward and started addiction and anger management counseling at the church with the assistance of now Prophet Toika, under the name of what is now known as Outreach and Crisis Counseling Services LLC.

In August of 2013, the confession of favor showed up in the most unexplainable way. Pastor and Apostle received a call from the bank informing them that during the takeover of once National City Bank, corporate heads got together and decided to forgive the debt that was on the building of CNUM and give them the clear deed to the building on Mix Avenue. The caller shared that though their offices were in Cleveland Ohio, the outreach efforts of CNUM had not gone unnoticed and the church performed their “Deed Burning” service the following month. God had spoken.

In March of 2014, knowing that the church on Mix Avenue could never house the Outreach ministry projects quickly spouting forth, the leadership again stepped out on faith and obtained the new 15,688 square foot home of Christ N Us Ministries O.C.C at 511 Industrial Mile Road. Which now serves as the headquarters of the Outreach and Crisis Centers Inc. Then shortly after moving into their new home, Christ N Us Ministries experienced ministry in full circle when the daughters of the pastors, Domonique Huff and Shanice Bays were anointed and licensed into the five-fold ministry…..showing all that sticking and staying even through the challenges of life has great rewards.

In 2015, Pastor Bays extended the mezzanine level of the church to the Outreach and Crisis Counseling Services and later on that year the counseling center went on to obtain certification through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and hired its first doctor to aide in the war on drugs and the treatment of those afflicted by the grips of heroin, alcohol, and other drugs. In 2016, under the direction of Chief Pastor Tyrone and Apostle Michelle Bays (now licensed in supervision in both Maryland and Ohio) OCCS moved into a larger location where it currently serves today offering Outpatient Counseling, Intensive Outpatient Counseling , Medication Assisted Treatment, and Inpatient Detoxification Services, employing over 36 individuals, doctors and nurses, which many are of the OCC family, doctors ranging from psychologist, psychiatrist, family medicine and addiction specialists.

In the 16th year of existence, Christ N Us and Outreach and Crisis Centers Inc. abroad, looked forward to the continuation of allowing Gods charge, to change the crisis stricken world, to manifest; and the opening of recovery houses and centers around the country has begun. Hosting its first Marriage Retreat in the Smoky Mountains of TN and the formation of the From Lovers to Friends Marriage Team, OCC reached out to many allowing the anointing of God to heal and restore lives and marriages through their ministries.

In 2018 Pastor and Apostle Bays and the Outreach and Crisis Centers was blessed again with an amazing opportunity to mentor their already daughter in the Lord Evangelist Juanita Sheppard and her wonderful husband Elder Jason. They haved blessed the OCC ministry in so many ways, joining the Outreach Counseling Centers Counseling Team and quickly transformed into amazing examples of leadership and pastoral readiiness that could not be denied. A Chief of OCC in her own right, Pastor Sheppard has an anointing to comfort, heal, and bring to Christ, young adults like no other. Pastor and Elder Sheppard moved forward with joy and the blessing of the leadership and brought their vision church forth “House of Prayer Evangelistic Center” also known as the HOPE CENTER OCC. She is also a proud member of and brought together two ministries OCC and AOC (Association of Churches lead by Apostle Robert Brown); doing what Christ does best, building the kingdom. Pastor Juanita Sheppard is changing lives in her church weekly and raising up leaders at rapid speed and excellence.

In 2019, Outreach and Crisis Centers Inc is changing lives on purpose. With a word from God for the year that we will be “Basking in the Favor” OCCS has gone forth to obtain space in Athens Ohio to open their second of many residential locations to address the addiciton problem in not only Ohio but eventually the world. Apostle Michelle Bays has been licensed and collobarting with addiciton agencies in the state of Maryland and called upon to aide physicians in the state of Georgia to lend her expertise of raising up recover centers that ultimately bring healing to dying world. Now working closely with the Chiefs of OCC and the vision quickly moving and picking up momentum…..God is speaking!

In 2023 Christ N Us was blessed to receive their new assignment and new home at 313 West High Street Springfield, Ohio 45506 free and clear, and it will house the 3rd inpatient location for OCCS!

Still going and loving strong, Chief Officers and OCC Family have all made a declaration that we are “OCC4LF”

Enjoying some time here with my hometown
